Plant Operator (Cylinder Prep)

What you will do

• Assess, sort, organize, and store incoming gas cylinders by service, size, and valve type.
• Prepare cylinder surfaces by removing old labels and applying protective paint and temperature coatings.
• Inspect high- and low-pressure cylinders and install new valves.
• Move cylinders using forklifts and handcarts, and assist with loading and unloading carrier and shuttle trucks.
• Track valve and cylinder inventory and maintain an orderly cylinder yard.
• Perform preventive maintenance on cylinder-preparation equipment and support health, safety, and ISO quality initiatives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to read safety rules, safety data sheets, operating instructions, and procedure manuals in English.
• Ability to write and complete reports in English.
• Ability to read pressure and temperature indicators, connect and disconnect filling lines, and move gas cylinders.
• Ability to work all shifts and in all weather conditions; lifting or moving up to 50 pounds is required.
