Product Manager (Ontology Platform)

Location: Remote - New Jersey, United States

Salary: 150,000–160,000 USD base salary annually; additional discretionary bonus and/or equity may be available.

What you will do

• Define the vision, strategy, success metrics, and multi-year roadmap for the enterprise ontology platform.
• Translate ambiguous business and regulatory needs into product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and an executable backlog.
• Coordinate dependencies between the ontology platform and the Foundational Data Platform, including build-versus-leverage decisions and roadmap prioritization.
• Shape workflows for ontology definitions, data mappings, configuration, and the identification, triage, and resolution of data breaks.
• Partner with engineering, business stakeholders, Data Governance, and Compliance to align platform delivery with enterprise standards and regulatory expectations.
• Track business and engineering dependencies, communicate trade-offs, and manage delivery risks.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of Product Management experience with data-intensive platforms such as MDM, knowledge graphs, data mesh, or enterprise data warehousing.
• Strong understanding of data modeling and the ability to discuss graph databases, RDF, SPARQL, property graphs, APIs, and ETL/ELT patterns with engineers.
• Experience managing dependencies between a product platform and a separate infrastructure or foundational data team.
• Ability to synthesize conflicting source definitions into clean, canonical structures and communicate effectively with technical and executive stakeholders.
• Experience in financial services or another highly regulated industry is strongly preferred.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with ontology standards such as OWL and RDF or experience building a knowledge graph.
• Experience with metadata management tools or data cataloging software.
• Experience leading a product from 0 to 1 in a large corporate environment.
