Platform Product Manager (AI)

Location: NYC-Metro; hybrid work required

Base compensation: $170,000–$220,000 annually, plus annual bonus and equity.

An AI-native startup building an operating platform for institutional finance back- and middle-office workflows, including private equity fund servicing, insurance claims, and private credit valuation and monitoring.

What you will do

• Own the platform-as-product roadmap for APIs, SDKs, MCP and A2A protocol surfaces, and extension points.
• Represent internal engineers, customer technical stakeholders, and future partners in platform strategy and prioritization.
• Partner with Engineering on orchestration architecture, stable extension points, versioning, backward compatibility, and developer-facing defaults.
• Write and maintain quickstarts, reference architectures, sample agents, reusable blueprints, and API/SDK documentation.
• Run developer relations through technical articles, conference talks, demos, workshops, and ecosystem engagement.
• Define developer experience metrics and drive adoption of reusable platform assets across delivery teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of product management experience, including substantial work in platform, API, or developer-tools products.
• Hands-on developer relations or technical evangelism experience, including documentation, sample code, or technical content used for integrations.
• Technical fluency with code, APIs, SDKs, protocols, REST, webhooks, authentication, and agent-to-agent or tool-use protocols such as MCP.
• Experience building products for developers, solution architects, or technical integrators.
• 0-to-1 platform or developer-program building experience at a startup or new business line.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to author technical content and represent the platform externally.

Nice to have

• Experience with agentic AI or LLM ecosystems such as MCP, A2A, LangChain, or AutoGen.
• Developer community, meetup, open-source, protocol specification, public speaking, or conference experience.
• Background in financial services or another regulated enterprise software domain.
• Experience enabling solution architects or forward-deployed engineers and scaling a platform or developer-relations function.
