Associate Specialist, Patient Access (Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management)

Location: Onsite at HSHS - St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese, Illinois; candidates must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States

Salary: $17.00–$18.15 per hour, based on experience

What you will do

• Perform admitting and pre-registration duties for hospital patients.
• Assign medical record numbers, complete medical necessity and compliance checks, and process physician orders.
• Collect demographic, insurance, and financial information and support point-of-service collections.
• Verify insurance eligibility, select plan codes, enter benefits data, and support clean claim processing.
• Explain consent, Medicare, Tricare, observation, and other patient forms; obtain signatures and document distribution.
• Operate the telephone switchboard, audit accounts, correct documentation, and provide customer service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Inquisitive mindset and openness to innovation, including AI-based process improvement.
• Must be able to work onsite in Breese, Illinois.
• Must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.
• CRCR certification required within 6 months of hire; certification is company-paid.
