Senior Product Designer

Location: Herndon, Virginia, USA; routine office environment. Minimal travel of up to 10% may be required, including occasional travel to a Government or University facility.

What you will do

• Lead discovery sessions with stakeholders and users to define needs, pain points, business rules, and future-state workflows.
• Translate requirements into user journeys, process flows, information architecture, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity interface designs.
• Design experiences for data collection, workflow tracking, status visibility, review, approval, documentation, and reporting.
• Collaborate with business analysts, engineers, testers, and project managers to align designs with functional and technical requirements.
• Conduct usability reviews and feedback sessions, refine designs, and prepare implementation-ready specifications and annotated mockups.
• Support accessibility conformance, user acceptance testing, training materials, and iterative product improvement.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of relevant experience in product design, UX, human-centered design, interaction design, visual design, or a related field.
• Experience designing web applications, workflow tools, portals, dashboards, enterprise systems, or other complex digital solutions.
• Experience with user flows, wireframes, prototypes, mockups, design specifications, user research, usability testing, or heuristic evaluation.
• Working knowledge of Figma, Miro, FigJam, Adobe XD, Sketch, or equivalent design tools.
• Familiarity with accessibility practices, including Section 508 compliance principles.
• United States citizenship and an active Top Secret security clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, or relevant military service, technical training, certifications, or progressive experience in place of a degree.
• Certifications in user experience, human-centered design, accessibility, or agile delivery.
