Facilities Engineer II

Location: 25 N. Winfield Rd., Winfield, Illinois, United States; onsite, second shift from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., including every third weekend

Salary: $30.75–$41.51 per hour

What you will do

• Operate and maintain high-pressure boilers, chillers, cooling towers, generators, electrical switchgear, domestic hot water systems, medical air compressors, and energy management systems.
• Perform safety checks, preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, cleaning, and painting of plant equipment and mechanical rooms.
• Analyze and balance chemicals in boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and closed-loop systems, including safe handling and disposal of chemical drums.
• Respond to plant emergencies and service requests, assess problems, troubleshoot issues, correct faults, and document completed work.
• Operate facility systems safely and efficiently and assist contractors and vendors with repairs, maintenance, and construction.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of relevant building maintenance experience.
• Technical maintenance training, HVAC/R trade school certification, or equivalent.
• Stationary Engineer license, or ability to obtain it within one year of hire.
• Valid driver’s license and submission of a driving abstract.
• Background check required, including criminal history review in accordance with applicable Illinois and federal laws.

Nice to have

• Hospital or military experience.
• One year of boiler maintenance training.
• Current universal refrigerant certification.
