HVAC Technician

Location: Rensselaer, New York, United States; onsite, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm

Salary: $24.76–$44.42 per hour

What you will do

• Start up, operate, monitor, shut down, troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair HVAC and related mechanical systems.
• Maintain coolers, freezers, ultra-low-temperature freezers, refrigeration chillers, chilled water systems, pumps, air compressors, and industrial air handling units.
• Operate the facility-wide building automation system and conduct daily rounds of HVAC and facilities equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and respond to planned, unplanned, and emergency site work through a rotational on-call schedule.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with internal departments, Facilities Management, outside contractors, and vendors.
• Maintain safe and efficient plant equipment operations in accordance with SOPs, cGMPs, GDPs, and quality standards.

Requirements

• AAS degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• HVAC Technician II: 2+ years of experience in AC, heating, chilled water systems, building automation controls, and maintenance.
• HVAC Technician III: 5+ years of experience in the same areas.
• Solid understanding of industrial HVAC systems, including industrial air handler maintenance.
• EPA certification for refrigeration gases and ability to become fully gown-qualified for production areas.
• Ability to work onsite in Rensselaer, New York, during the stated weekday schedule and participate in rotational on-call coverage.
