Senior Boiler Operator, Engineering and Maintenance (Biotech)

Location: 100% onsite in Silver Spring, Maryland, United States. Monday through Friday, approximately 6:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m., with a rotating one-week on-call assignment every 4–5 weeks.

Salary: $37.50–$45.43 per hour.

What you will do

• Serve as the subject matter expert for boilers, wastewater neutralization systems, chillers, and related utility equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, advanced troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, and water chemistry monitoring.
• Monitor and maintain facility utilities, buildings, electrical and water systems, HVAC and refrigeration, life safety systems, and grounds.
• Document maintenance activities in the computerized maintenance management system and ensure cGMP, safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance.
• Guide vendors and contractors, report equipment and compliance needs to senior leadership, and support construction, renovation, and special projects.
• Train junior technicians and participate in emergency and after-hours on-call coverage.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and at least six years of maintenance or facilities maintenance experience.
• Active Maryland Stationary Engineer Grade 1 license or DC 3rd Class Engineer certification required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Maryland wastewater treatment license required.
• Valid driver's license, intermediate PC skills, and experience with preventive maintenance tracking and scheduling software.
• Strong organization, problem-solving, multitasking, communication, and independent working skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook.

Nice to have

• Associate degree or advanced technical training.
• Experience with digital voltmeters, temperature probes, pneumatic calibrators, and pneumatic, electronic, or hydraulic control systems.
• AutoCAD experience.
