Immediate Care Technician (Healthcare)

Location: On-site at the Immediate Care Center in McHenry, Illinois; floating to other clinics may be required.

Salary: USD 20.50–26.65 per hour

What you will do

• Escort patients, verify identities, prepare them for examinations, obtain vital signs, and document visit information.
• Support physicians and advanced practice providers with patient flow, referrals, transfers, discharges, and delegated clinical procedures.
• Perform ECGs, venipuncture, immunizations, specimen collection, CLIA-waived testing, wound care, and splinting as directed.
• Prepare, clean, disinfect, and stock examination rooms, equipment, instruments, medications, and supplies.
• Communicate with patients and clinical staff professionally while maintaining confidentiality and patient satisfaction.
• Work rotating 12-hour shifts, including one shift every two-week scheduling period and one summer and winter holiday shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Certification as a CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA, EMT-Basic, or EMT-Paramedic, or an Illinois EMT license is required according to the applicable pathway.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• Written proof of eligibility to take an approved medical assistant certification exam may be accepted for eligible candidates; medical assistant certification must be completed within the first six months of employment.
• Strong computer skills and successful completion of a pre-employment competency exam.
• One to two years of ambulatory care experience and electronic medical record experience are preferred.
