Clinical Care Technician, CCT (Surgical ICU)

Location: Tufts Medical Center, Boston, United States; onsite inpatient hospital role

Salary: $20.12–$25.15 per hour, based on full-time equivalent

What you will do

• Provide and assist with safe patient mobilization, including ambulation, transfers, positioning, mechanical lift use, and range-of-motion exercises.
• Review activity orders and restrictions in the EMR and document mobilization accurately and on time.
• Support nursing staff with wound care assessments, treatments, skin assessments, and patient monitoring within the role's scope of practice.
• Assist with critical care patient transport to testing and procedural areas, managing lines and tubes with nursing or therapy support as needed.
• Communicate patient observations, symptoms, and changes to the assigned nurse while responding to patient and family needs.
• Maintain equipment, follow fall-prevention and safe-handling procedures, protect confidentiality, and support patient and family satisfaction.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and computer use, including EMR documentation.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to handle confidential information.
• Ability to provide age-appropriate care and work with patients from diverse cultural and developmental backgrounds.
• Ability to work a rotating schedule of day and night shifts, including weekends, and perform extensive standing, walking, lifting, positioning, and patient transfers.

Nice to have

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA) certification.
• Completion of Nursing Fundamentals in an accredited nursing program.
• One year of experience as a Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Assistant, Critical Care Technician, or Patient Care Technician.
