Connected Automation - Senior Automation Engineer (Industrial Automation)

Location: Hybrid in Cork, Ireland; the role also references collaboration from the Dublin team.

What you will do

• Design control systems for industrial automation equipment from concept through project completion.
• Develop control system design specifications with clients and project design teams.
• Select and manage automation contractors throughout the project life cycle.
• Review system integrator and vendor design documentation.
• Coordinate with automation vendors and track current automation technology trends.
• Attend control system hardware and software factory acceptance tests.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience with a minimum of 7 years in automation engineering.
• Degree-level qualification in electronic systems, mechatronics, automation, controls technology, or equivalent technical experience.
• Experience in software development, industrial control system design, and PLC/DCS-based control systems.
• Experience with software architectures and design, including S88, GAMP, and 21 CFR Part 11.
• Knowledge of industrial networks including Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Profibus, and Ethernet APL.
• Good understanding of panel drawings and P&IDs, plus strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Project or design experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors.
