Exception Handling Resolution Specialist (Molecular Diagnostics)

Location: Onsite at the laboratory in Waltham, Massachusetts, United States

Hourly rate: $24–$30 per hour, depending on background and experience.

What you will do

• Resolve exception events and problem log cases related to patient results, medical records, requisitions, and specimen data.
• Triage exception handling requests and inquiries across Xifin, LCD Manual Review, Accessioning, Portal, and Medical Records queues.
• Review laboratory information system alerts, flags, and unclear requisitions, taking appropriate corrective action.
• Maintain GDP documentation, draft result reports within scope, and ensure procedures meet regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with the Clinical Laboratory Director, laboratory management, supervisors, and other departments; escalate issues when necessary.
• Support quality assurance and quality control programs while maintaining CAP/CLIA compliance and patient and provider confidentiality.

Requirements

• Ability to work onsite at the Waltham, Massachusetts laboratory.
• Experience with laboratory information systems and/or electronic health record systems.
• Excellent customer service, conflict resolution, problem-solving, organization, and communication skills.
• Experience developing and maintaining controlled procedures.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and collaborate effectively with a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; a bachelor’s degree or higher in a healthcare program is preferred but not required.
