Senior Backend Engineer (IoT)

Location: Hybrid work with an office in Risløkka, Oslo, Norway

What you will do

• Design and scale backend services, data structures, and microservices for logistics workflows and hardware telemetry.
• Help define the platform architecture through technical discussions and engineering decisions.
• Work with product managers and stakeholders to translate user needs into effective technical solutions.
• Review code, share knowledge, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
• Support software and hardware integrations, real-time dashboards, monitoring tools, and operational applications.

Requirements

• Proven backend development experience in a modern distributed environment, such as Go, Kotlin, or Java.
• Experience with relational databases and scalable API design.
• Understanding of the full software development lifecycle, cloud infrastructure, and operational monitoring.
• Product-minded approach and ability to communicate technical trade-offs clearly with technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Professional fluency in English, spoken and written.

Nice to have

• Experience with event-driven architectures.
• Experience working with IoT or hardware integrations.
