PHP Developer (German)

Location: Remote, office-based, or hybrid within Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, or the Netherlands.

Salary: EUR 2,500–4,200 gross per month. Final compensation depends on experience, location, and professional growth.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain backend logic for web applications.
• Integrate external APIs and third-party services.
• Optimize code for performance, scalability, and security.
• Design database structures and write efficient SQL queries.
• Participate in system architecture and technology decisions.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, designers, and analysts; conduct code reviews and contribute to CI/CD automation.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of commercial experience with PHP 7/8.
• Strong knowledge of OOP, SOLID, MVC, REST API design, HTTP, JSON, AJAX, and API integrations.
• Hands-on experience with Laravel, Symfony, or another modern PHP framework.
• Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL, optimized queries, Git, CMS platforms, Docker or other containerization tools, and Linux.
• English at Upper-Intermediate level or higher and German at Intermediate+ level or higher.
• Ability to read, improve, and maintain existing codebases.

Nice to have

• Experience with WordPress or frontend frameworks such as Angular, React, Vue, or Alpine.js.
• Knowledge of Redis, RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch, DDD, CQRS, or Clean Architecture.
• Experience with automated tests, PHP Unit, Pest, DevOps, or CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI and Jenkins.
