Senior Backend Engineer (Identity & Access Management)

Location: Remote, hybrid, or office-based work is available in Albania, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Ukraine.

Salary: EUR 3,850–5,125 gross per month. Final compensation depends on experience, location, and professional growth.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and operate high-throughput, low-latency identity services, including SSO, MFA, session management, and federation.
• Own features end-to-end from system design through production support and incident response.
• Implement OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, authentication, authorization, token issuance, rotation, and revocation strategies.
• Build clean, concurrent, testable Go backend services with gRPC and HTTP API contracts.
• Deploy and automate identity infrastructure using CI/CD, cloud platforms, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Lead identity security reviews, threat modeling, secure integrations, design reviews, mentoring, and technical roadmap contributions.

Requirements

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience, including 5+ years with Go.
• Production experience with IAM, Go, gRPC, and complex distributed backend systems.
• Expertise in OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SSO, MFA, RBAC, JWT, token security, session management, cryptography, federated identity, and OWASP Top 10.
• Hands-on experience with AWS or other cloud platforms, Kubernetes, Terraform, Terragrunt, and OpenTofu/Tofu.
• Experience designing high-throughput, low-latency systems with strong attention to security and correctness.
• English at Upper-Intermediate level or above is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAML, SCIM, PKI, JWK/JWKS endpoints, KMS/HSM, token introspection, rate limiting, abuse mitigation, and adaptive authentication.
• Experience with identity platforms such as Keycloak or AWS Cognito.
