Float Athletic Trainer (Warrenville Orthopaedics)

Location: Warrenville, Illinois, with coverage across high school and college contracts in Wheaton, Naperville, Elburn, and Sycamore

Salary: USD 26.23–36.72 per hour

What you will do

• Provide athletic training and direct patient care under the supervision of referring physicians.
• Evaluate and re-evaluate patients, select appropriate treatment modalities, adjust treatment plans, and monitor outcomes.
• Complete daily clinical documentation, evaluations, discharge follow-up calls, and treatment records.
• Provide patient education and contribute to department in-services, journal clubs, orientation, committees, and process improvement.
• Support and mentor clinical students, observers, interns, and other members of the care team.
• Cover school-based athletic programs on a rotating, school-dependent schedule, generally from early afternoon through completion of daily activities and on Saturdays.

Requirements

• Licensed Athletic Trainer in the state of Illinois.
• Master’s degree in athletic training for graduates after July 1, 2020; bachelor’s degree accepted for graduates before that date.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association upon hire, or within 90 days of hire for specified cost centers.
• Ability to provide on-site coverage at school and college contracts in the Warrenville-area communities.
• Ability to flex the schedule for patient care needs, staff meetings, and department activities outside normal hours.
