TL;DR
Special Operations Certified Athletic Trainer (Sports Medicine/Strength and Conditioning): Providing integrated athletic training, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and human performance services for Special Operations Forces and their families with an accent on evidence-based care, clinical documentation, and readiness-focused programs. Focus on designing protective equipment, supporting strength and conditioning protocols, advising human performance leadership, and delivering care in austere training environments.

Location: Fort Liberty, North Carolina, United States; relocation is offered. The role requires onsite support in austere environments and participation in Special Operations Forces training activities.

hirify.global provides human performance and healthcare support services for Special Operations service members and their families through the Preservation of the Force and Family contract.

What you will do

  • Provide athletic training and human performance services within the National Athletic Trainers’ Association scope of practice.
  • Design and fabricate protective pads, equipment, and braces, and apply taping techniques for injury prevention and treatment.
  • Support injury prevention, sports medicine, rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, and patient care programs.
  • Document care, referrals, utilization, and work performed in military electronic health records and human performance databases.
  • Advise program leadership on clinical, administrative, purchasing, fiscal, and performance matters.
  • Develop clinical guidelines, training materials, performance standards, data reports, and continuous-improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Must be a United States citizen and hold or be able to obtain a Secret or Top Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training and NATABOC certification.
  • Current NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification, or ability to obtain it within the first year.
  • Valid, unrestricted license from one of the 50 United States or its territories, with applicable credentialing maintained in good standing.
  • At least five years of sustained experience as an athletic trainer with NCAA Division I, Olympic, professional, and/or Special Operations athletes, or qualifying embedded military experience.
  • Ability to hike over rough terrain, work in austere environments, support physical training protocols, and lift or manipulate loads up to 25 kilograms.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Athletic Training.
  • Prior military or Special Operations Forces experience.
  • Experience in strength and conditioning.
