Medical Assistant Specialist

Location: Pomona Valley; onsite coverage of clinical offices and facilities as needed

Hourly pay range: $22–$25 USD

What you will do

• Assist physicians with patient examinations, minor procedures, treatment preparation, and patient education.
• Collect and document patient data, vital signs, procedures, medications, physician orders, and medical records.
• Administer prescribed oral and injectable medications and perform EKGs, pulse oximetry, and inhalation treatments as certified.
• Apply infection-control, sterile, and aseptic techniques when handling instruments, wounds, body fluids, and minor surgical procedures.
• Maintain patient flow by coordinating tests, procedures, follow-up, scheduling, chart completion, and billing documentation.
• Travel between departments and facilities as needed, maintain examination rooms and equipment, and manage medical supplies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduation from a recognized medical assistant program.
• Two years of experience as a medical assistant in a multispecialty group setting.
• Medical Assistant certification and current BLS certification.
• Ability to understand written instructions and communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and staff.
• Ability to work onsite in Pomona Valley and cover clinical departments and facilities as operationally required.
