Medical Assistant - General Internal Medicine Full Time Days (Medtech)

Location: 251 E. Huron, Chicago, Illinois, United States; full-time daytime, onsite position.

Salary: $19.13–$25.83 per hour

What you will do

• Support physicians, nurses, and licensed medical staff with patient flow and clinical care activities.
• Prepare patients for examinations, obtain vital signs, update medical information, and communicate significant findings.
• Assist with ECGs, venipuncture, immunizations, procedure trays, specimen collection, and CLIA-waived testing.
• Prepare, disinfect, sterilize, and restock exam rooms, equipment, instruments, vaccines, and medications.
• Promote patient satisfaction through professional communication and protect patient confidentiality.
• Complete delegated specialty procedures and other duties assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current certification as a medical assistant, or written proof of eligibility for an approved certification examination.
• Certification as CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or NRCMA must be completed within the first six months of employment, after up to two test attempts.
• American Heart Association-accredited Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
• 0–2 years of experience in a relevant role and strong computer skills.
• Onsite work in Chicago, Illinois, United States.

Nice to have

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
• One to two years of ambulatory care experience.
• Experience with electronic medical records.
