Location: Onsite at Mercy - St Anne Hospital in Toledo, Ohio, United States
Salary: $17.00–$18.15 per hour, based on experience, with shift differentials for select shifts

What you will do
- Perform admitting and patient access duties for hospital patients, including assigning accurate medical record numbers and processing physician orders.
- Collect and verify demographic, insurance, and financial information, including point-of-service collections and payment plan options.
- Complete medical necessity and compliance checks using insurance verification and Advanced Beneficiary Notice software.
- Explain and distribute consent, Medicare, Tricare, observation, and patient education forms and obtain required signatures.
- Operate the telephone switchboard and provide compassionate customer service to patients, guarantors, guardians, and internal contacts.
- Audit patient accounts, correct documentation, and provide statistical data to Patient Access leadership.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- At least 1 year of customer service experience.
- Ability to walk from room to room and push a 10-pound mobile computer station throughout the entire shift.
- Demonstrated inquisitiveness and openness to innovation, including AI-enabled process improvements.
- CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire; certification is company-paid.
- Availability for a part-time third-shift schedule: 7:00 p.m.–3:30 a.m. on Mondays and Fridays, every other weekend rotation, plus one 6:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. shift per week.
