Certified Medical Assistant (Endocrinology)

Location: Orland Park, Illinois, United States; onsite, day shift

Salary: $19.75–$25.68 per hour

What you will do

• Room patients, record medical histories, medications, vital signs, and other clinical information.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures and assist physicians and nursing staff.
• Administer injections and medications as directed by physicians.
• Perform phlebotomy and point-of-care testing, including urine, glucose, strep, flu, pregnancy, and other laboratory tests.
• Perform EKGs, pulmonary testing, chronic disease management testing, and related office procedures.
• Maintain infection control standards, sterilize equipment, document services, and support continuous improvement projects.

Requirements

• At least two years of recent Medical Assistant experience in a physician office or completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
• Completion of a phlebotomy class or equivalent experience, basic computer knowledge, and accurate typing skills.
• Effective verbal and written English communication is required.
• New graduates and hires must obtain an accepted Medical Assistant certification or registration within one year; an active Illinois RN or LPN license may substitute for CMA certification.

Nice to have

• Endocrinology experience.
• Associate degree in Medical Assisting.
• Second-language proficiency.
