Immediate Care Technician (Medical Care)

Location: Glenview, Illinois, United States. Full-time onsite position at the Glenview Immediate Care Center; three 12-hour shifts from 7:45 a.m. to 8:15 p.m., with weekend and holiday coverage. Floating to other clinics may be required.

Salary: $20.50–$26.65 per hour

What you will do

• Support physicians and advanced practice providers with patient flow, room preparation, patient identification, vital signs, documentation, and discharge processes.
• Assist with ECGs, venipuncture, immunizations, procedure trays, specimen collection, CLIA-waived testing, wound care, and splinting.
• Prepare, disinfect, sterilize, and maintain examination rooms, equipment, instruments, medications, and supplies.
• Monitor patient needs, communicate changes in vital signs or symptoms, and help prioritize visits and clinical tasks.
• Interact professionally with patients and staff while protecting patient confidentiality and supporting patient satisfaction.
• Participate in safety rounds, inventory management, staff meetings, referrals, transfers, and other delegated clinical duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must be a Certified Medical Assistant or Emergency Medical Technician. Eligible candidates must provide written proof for an approved certification pathway; Illinois EMT licensing or National Registry EMT certification is accepted.
• Medical assistant candidates must complete an approved CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or NRCMA certification within the first six months of employment after up to two test attempts.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• Completion of a pre-employment competency exam and strong computer skills.
• Preferred qualifications include electronic medical record experience, one to two years of ambulatory care experience, and a college degree or interest in healthcare.
