Coding Analyst, HB Coding-Part Time (Remote - Must reside in IL, IN, IA, WI, OH, MO, or FL) - Day Shift 20 hours

Location: Remote; must reside in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Wisconsin, Ohio, Missouri, Michigan, or Florida. Day shift, 20 hours per week.

Salary: USD 27.32–38.24 per hour

What you will do

• Assign ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, HCPCS Level I and II, and evaluation and management codes for outpatient encounters.
• Review medical records and documentation to identify appropriate diagnoses, procedures, and services.
• Resolve NCCI, NCD/LCD, Coding Clinic, and other outpatient claim edits.
• Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, disease processes, and medical terminology to coding decisions.
• Collaborate with Patient Accounting, Registration, case managers, and clinical departments on coding and reimbursement matters.
• Meet minimum productivity and quality standards with at least 95% coding accuracy.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in an acute healthcare setting.
• One of the following credentials: RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, COC, or CPC.
• Membership in AHIMA or AAPC.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines, CPT coding conventions, Coding Clinic guidance, and outpatient coding requirements.

Nice to have

• RHIA or RHIT combined with CCS, CCS-P, COC, or CPC.
• 4 years of experience in an acute healthcare setting.
• 4 years of experience in a professional setting.
