Patient Care Tech (Ortho/Neuro, Part-Time Days)

Location: 1000 N. Westmoreland, Lake Forest, Illinois, United States; onsite, part-time day shift

Salary: $18.22–$24.60 per hour

What you will do

• Collect, label, and transport specimens; obtain 12-lead EKGs and perform point-of-care testing.
• Discontinue saline locks, indwelling urinary catheters, and telemetry monitoring packs.
• Assist patients with hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, positioning, and other individualized care needs.
• Perform hourly rounding, bladder scans, care checks, documentation, and timely responses to patient call lights.
• Provide continuous visual observation as a Safety Attendant/Telesitter Monitor and notify the care team of patient needs or environmental hazards.
• Support admissions, incoming calls, advance-directive documentation, electronic bed-board management, and EMR downtime readiness.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited CNA program and listing on the Illinois CNA Registry, or successful completion of one nursing-student clinical rotation with written verification.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association.
• Ability to complete required training, follow clinical policies, and meet patient and staff safety standards.
• Successful completion of a background check is required.
