Clinical Care Technician, CCT (Per Diem) - Surgical ICU

Location: Tufts Medical Center; onsite hospital-based role

Pay range: $20.12–$25.15, based on full-time equivalent

What you will do

• Assist professional nurses with direct, patient-centered care in the Surgical ICU.
• Support activities of daily living, mobility, positioning, comfort measures, and patient safety.
• Collect, document, and communicate clinical data, specimens, and patient belongings information.
• Prepare rooms, equipment, and supplies for admissions, transfers, discharges, and procedures.
• Transport and accompany patients, respond to call lights, perform hourly rounding, and act as a sitter when requested.
• Perform 12-lead EKGs, connect monitoring equipment, clean wounds after nurse assessment, and prime medication-free IV tubing.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Ability to read, write, and understand medical terminology.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, computer, and documentation skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information and provide age-appropriate care.
• Ability to lift 30–35 pounds, turn patients, and stand or walk for extended periods.

Nice to have

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant certification.
• Completion of Nursing Fundamentals in an accredited nursing program.
• One year of experience as a Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Assistant, Critical Care Technician, or Patient Care Technician.
• Acute care experience.
