Patient Care Tech (Short Stay Unit) 24hrs/week / Day Shift

Location: Lowell General Hospital, Main Campus, Short Stay Unit, Lowell, Massachusetts, United States. Onsite, part-time day shift, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., 24 hours per week, with rotating weekends every other Saturday and Sunday and rotating holidays.

Salary: $20.12–$25.15, based on full-time equivalent.

What you will do

• Provide activities of daily living and basic patient care under the direction of a nurse.
• Prepare patient rooms, assist with meals, transport patients, and support admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Use glucometers and lift-assist devices, collect specimens, and operate equipment safely.
• Collect, document, and report accurate patient data in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and secure patient environment, including continuous observation when serving as a patient sitter.
• Provide clerical, reception, telephone, visitor, chart, and department support.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work the stated day shift, rotating weekends, and rotating holidays.
• Ability to provide attentive, professional care and collaborate with the patient care team.

Nice to have

• One year of healthcare or nursing service experience.
• Certification as a patient care technician, clinical associate, certified nursing assistant, or equivalent.
