Sr Field Service Engineer

Location: Fully remote, based in the Triveneto Region of Italy, ideally Padova or Venezia; up to 70% travel within the region and occasionally across Italy.

Salary: €43,000–€57,000 gross annual salary, plus target bonus/incentive pay of 10% of base annual salary.

What you will do

• Provide timely customer support and professional after-sales service across the assigned region.
• Conduct service, repairs, installations, electrical and mechanical testing, and maintenance of medical, compound, and stereo microscopy products and IT solutions at customer sites.
• Respond to support calls, diagnose system failures, determine cost-effective solutions, and escalate complex technical or quality issues.
• Support sales representatives with installations, demonstrations, and exhibitions.
• Collaborate with service and cross-functional teams to improve processes and sustain effective standard work.
• Identify customer needs, service opportunities, and potential new business during field activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a similar qualification.
• Fluent English and Italian.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to travel within the Triveneto Region and other regions of Italy, up to 70%.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and ability to lift, move, or carry equipment and tools.

Nice to have

• Experience maintaining and repairing confocal systems.
• Experience with repairs, calibrations, upgrades, networking, and cross-functional communication.
• Training or coaching experience.
