Building Services Technician

Location: Weighbridge Rd, Shirebrook, Mansfield, UK. Onsite role supporting a 24-hour warehouse operation.

What you will do

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across a large-scale warehouse site.
• Install, maintain, test, and repair electrical and mechanical building services, including power, lighting, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, drainage, doors, and fire safety systems.
• Diagnose faults and complete work orders, PPM logs, defect reports, handover notes, and other maintenance records in CMMS and related systems.
• Perform multi-trade tasks such as basic fabric repairs and painting in line with qualifications and competency.
• Support engineers, contractors, inspections, isolations, access arrangements, handovers, and small-scale maintenance projects.
• Communicate with the Facilities Shift Manager, warehouse colleagues, suppliers, contractors, and internal teams to maintain site operations.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in a multi-trade, facilities, or maintenance role, preferably in a warehouse or large-scale site environment.
• Relevant technical qualification, such as NVQ Level 2+, City & Guilds, apprenticeship, HNC/HND, or equivalent recognised trade qualification.
• Practical understanding of mechanical and electrical systems or multi-skilled trade experience.
• Safe and competent use of hand and power tools, with strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team under pressure, with flexibility for overtime and weekend or on-call rotas.

Nice to have

• IPAF, PASMA, forklift, or similar relevant licences.
