Patient Care Technician-Oncology Part Time Days (Oncology)

Location: Palos Heights, Illinois, United States; onsite day shift

Salary: $17.05–$23.02 per hour

What you will do

• Perform basic nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse, including monitoring vital signs, blood glucose, intake, and output.
• Assist patients with bathing, grooming, eating, and other activities of daily living.
• Report abnormal physical, mental, or emotional changes to nursing staff.
• Maintain clean and orderly patient rooms and support unit workflow.
• Answer telephones, intercoms, and call lights and communicate information to patients, families, and staff.
• Validate daily admission, discharge, and census lists as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One of the following: Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, or nursing school student with one completed semester of clinical training.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
• Availability for part-time work: 48 hours per pay period, 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. day shifts, alternating weekends and holidays.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, remain organized, and work effectively in stressful situations.

Nice to have

• Phlebotomy experience.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing assistant program or phlebotomy course.
