Patient Care Technician (Cardiac Intermediate)

Location: 25 N. Winfield Rd., Winfield, Illinois, United States. Part-time night shift from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. with rotating weekends.

Salary: $17.05–$23.02 per hour

What you will do

• Perform delegated basic nursing care under the supervision of an RN, including monitoring vital signs, measuring blood glucose, and recording intake and output.
• Assist patients with bathing, grooming, eating, and other activities of daily living.
• Report abnormal findings and changes in patients’ physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Maintain clean and orderly patient rooms and support unit workflow in coordination with the charge RN or assistant manager.
• Answer telephones, intercoms, and call lights, communicating information to patients, families, and staff.
• Validate admission, discharge, and census lists and serve as a liaison between patient care units and other departments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification as a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician, or completion of one semester of clinical nursing education.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to demonstrate flexibility, organization, multitasking, and critical thinking in stressful situations.
• Availability for part-time night shifts from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. and rotating weekends.
• Completion of a background check is required for new hires.

Nice to have

• Phlebotomy experience.
• Graduation from an accredited Nursing Assistant program or a phlebotomy course.
