What you will do

• Support registered nurses with direct and indirect patient care activities.
• Measure and document vital signs, intake and output, glucose levels, cardiac monitoring, and other patient observations.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, specimen collection, catheter and heplock discontinuation, and selected bedside care procedures.
• Assist with admission, transfer, discharge, mobility, positioning, feeding, bathing, newborn care, and pre- and post-operative care.
• Respond to call lights and emergencies, initiate basic life support, transport patients and equipment, and promptly report changes in patient condition.
• Maintain a safe, clean, stocked, and operational patient-care unit while supporting quality improvement and staff activities.

Requirements

• CNA certification or current enrollment in nursing school with completed basic clinical rotations.
• CPR recognition from the American Heart Association, BLS for Healthcare Providers.
• High school diploma.
• Unit-based recognition for capillary blood glucose monitoring and at least 90% on annual mandatory health and safety training quizzes.
• Previous healthcare experience is preferred, with the ability to relate to patients, families, nursing staff, and medical staff.

Nice to have

• One year of college, nursing education, or equivalent experience.
• Associate or bachelor's degree.
