Assistant or Associate Professor of Educational Leadership

What you will do

• Teach graduate-level courses in Educational Leadership, Educational Administration, and Organizational Leadership in traditional and online formats.
• Teach and support coursework for Principal and Superintendent certification programs.
• Prepare aspiring educational leaders to meet state certification standards and expectations.
• Supervise leadership practicum, internship, and field-based experiences.
• Contribute to curriculum development, program assessment, accreditation, and continuous improvement.
• Maintain a scholarly agenda and provide service to the department, college, and university.

Requirements

• Earned doctorate in Educational Leadership, Educational Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a closely related field by December 2026; ABD candidates may be considered with a clearly established completion date.
• Evidence of strong teaching at the higher education level.
• Significant professional experience in PK–12 educational leadership and administration.
• Working knowledge of educator preparation expectations, particularly principal and superintendent preparation and certification.
• Ability to collaborate with school districts and educational partners and contribute to a tenure-track scholarly agenda.

Nice to have

• Experience as a PK–12 campus principal, district-level administrator, superintendent, or central-office administrator.
• Current or previous Texas Principal or Superintendent certification, or comparable certification from another state.
• Knowledge of Texas Principal Standards, Superintendent Standards, and Texas Education Agency certification requirements.
• Experience with leadership certification examinations, internships, field-based experiences, graduate program development, and continuous improvement.
• Expertise in instructional leadership, organizational leadership, school improvement, educational law and policy, school finance, strategic planning, or community engagement.
