Equipment Operator

Location: Annapolis Junction, MD; construction projects in the Northern VA/DC/MD area

Salary: $25.00–$35.00 per hour

hirify.global is a large general contractor delivering heavy civil and industrial construction projects, including highways, bridges, underground utilities, water and wastewater facilities, and marine construction.

What you will do

• Operate excavators and dozers on utility, pipe, roadway, highway, and bridge projects.
• Support pipe and utility crews, including working safely inside trench boxes.
• Move and place construction materials on heavy highway and bridge projects.
• Inspect fluids before starting equipment and perform routine lubrication, fueling, and cleaning.
• Follow supervisor instructions and interpret ground markings, hand signals, and grade stakes.
• Assist construction crews with other duties when equipment operation is not available.

Requirements

• At least five years of related experience and/or training, with experience appropriate to the project requirements.
• Certification or approval from the Safety Department or qualification as a competent person.
• Successful completion of a practical test.
• Ability to operate equipment safely and work in physically demanding construction environments.
• Ability to climb into and out of equipment, operate hand and foot controls, and occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds.
