Senior or Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote — Europe preferred; exceptional candidates considered globally

Salary: USD $100,000–$140,000 annually, with flexibility up to approximately $200,000 for exceptional talent

Builds an enterprise-ready AI coworker that integrates with procurement, legal, sales, ERP, contract, email, and collaboration systems to automate contract workflows and provide grounded answers with source citations.

What you will do

• Design, build, and ship production features across a TypeScript stack.
• Own backend services, APIs, integrations, data flows, and serverless infrastructure on AWS.
• Contribute to frontend applications using React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
• Work directly with enterprise customers to translate workflows and requirements into maintainable product features.
• Use AI coding agents, review their output, and maintain production standards for quality, security, and reliability.
• Help shape architecture, engineering practices, and product improvements as the company grows.

Requirements

• Senior- or Staff-level software engineering experience.
• Deep professional experience with TypeScript and strong backend skills using Node.js, Bun, or similar runtimes.
• Experience with React or Next.js, AWS, serverless and event-driven architecture, APIs, integrations, and distributed backend workflows.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases and infrastructure as code.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication, customer-facing skills, and the ability to work with non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience using advanced AI coding tools or agents and critically reviewing AI-generated code.

Nice to have

• Founding engineer or early-stage startup experience.
• Forward-deployed, solutions engineering, implementation, or technical consulting experience.
• Experience with SST, Pulumi, or comparable infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Experience building enterprise AI or workflow-automation products and integrating systems such as SAP, NetSuite, Salesforce, Snowflake, Microsoft 365, Slack, or contract lifecycle management platforms.
• Public projects, open-source contributions, or code samples demonstrating engineering quality.
