Staff Software Engineer (AI) (React/TypeScript, Ruby/PostgreSQL, AWS/Kubernetes): Shaping the architecture and delivery of a relationship-intelligence CRM across backend data models, asynchronous processing, component-based interfaces, and visualizations with an accent on technical direction, scalability, reliability, and AI-assisted development. Focus on leading ambiguous multi-quarter initiatives, designing high-performance relational systems, improving operational health, and evaluating AI or agent-based product capabilities.

What you will do
- Set and own the technical direction, architecture, sequencing, and tradeoffs for a core product domain.
- Lead complex, multi-quarter initiatives from ambiguous problem definition through delivery.
- Partner with product and design to shape both product direction and implementation.
- Raise engineering standards through design reviews, code reviews, and mentorship.
- Identify and deliver high-leverage improvements to reliability, performance, and developer velocity.
- Own operational health, observability, performance, and on-call responsibilities for the domain.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience building and shipping production software as a full-stack engineer.
- Technical leadership experience on ambiguous, high-stakes projects with impact beyond the immediate team.
- Strong server-side experience with modern object-oriented practices; Ruby and PostgreSQL are used in the product.
- Experience building component-based interfaces with React and TypeScript.
- Deep knowledge of relational databases, scalable system design, and performance troubleshooting.
- Practical fluency with AI-assisted development tools and sound judgment when reviewing AI-generated code.
Nice to have
- Experience building product features on top of LLMs or agent frameworks, including evaluation and monitoring.
- Experience in an organization where AI-assisted development was standard practice.
