Intern - User Experience (AI)

Location: Onsite at the Wilmington, Massachusetts headquarters and test site, United States. Up to 10% travel may be required.

Salary: $32.00–$44.00 per hour, plus benefits.

What you will do

• Apply user-centered design, Design Thinking, and Lean Design principles to create user experiences.
• Organize and facilitate user testing with UX researchers, designers, and development stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of the UI design system.
• Own design projects from sketches and wireframes through high-resolution visual designs and Figma prototypes.
• Advocate for usability, accessibility, UX research and design methodologies, innovation, and consistent interface standards.
• Observe operations at the headquarters and test site to understand complex hardware and software products.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, UX Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Understanding of UX design principles, information architecture, and user-centered design methodologies.
• Familiarity with Sketch, Figma, or Adobe XD.
• Ability to work independently with ambiguous requirements and manage multiple projects, timelines, and deadlines using tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
• Ability to collaborate with development teams and ensure designs are implemented as intended.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive and/or fly to client and customer locations may be required.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with generative AI applied to UX design and analysis.
