Senior Software/SRE Engineer (Go)

Location: Remote within the United States; Chicago, Illinois office context. The role generally operates on Central Time and requires travel 2–3 times per year. Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.

Salary: $120,000–$150,000 per year

What you will do

• Build and maintain production Go and Python backend services, APIs, data pipelines, business logic, and integrations.
• Develop TypeScript/React frontend features with strong attention to UI quality and client-side performance.
• Design systems, document architectural decisions, review code, and prototype technical solutions.
• Operate reliable applications and Kubernetes workloads across AWS EKS and GCP GKE, including rollouts, upgrades, resource tuning, and incident debugging.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and GitOps deployment workflows.
• Embed HIPAA security and compliance controls into application code and delivery pipelines.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with sustained hands-on technical contribution.
• Expert-level Go and/or Python development, including automation, tooling, and operational scripting.
• Production experience with Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, TypeScript/React, Prometheus, Elastic Cloud or equivalent observability tools.
• Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions or GitLab, Terraform/Terragrunt, and PostgreSQL schema design and optimization.
• Experience building software in regulated or high-stakes environments where data privacy and auditability matter.
• US work eligibility without visa sponsorship is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Helm, Kustomize, ArgoCD, or Flux.
• Experience driving software development lifecycle improvements, progressive delivery, automated testing gates, and rollback procedures.
