Senior Software Engineer - Cloud Platform Engineering (AI)

hirify.global develops hirify.global Cloud, a multi-cloud Database-as-a-Service platform for managing open-source relational databases with continuous availability, autonomous operation, and serverless capabilities.

What you will do

• Design and implement application layers, business logic, API workflows, and cloud-native services for a globally deployed relational database platform.
• Own features end to end, from functional specification and architecture through implementation, deployment, and production operation.
• Build and operate infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP using Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop cloud-native applications, controllers, and automation tooling with Python and a backend language such as Go, Java, or C++.
• Build AI applications and workflows using vector databases, embedding pipelines, semantic search, retrieval-augmented generation, and LLM agent frameworks.
• Implement secure and observable services with REST or gRPC APIs, authentication, authorization, tenant isolation, structured logging, distributed tracing, and alerting.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 2 years with data-intensive applications, database-adjacent features, or enterprise software.
• Production experience deploying, debugging, and managing services across at least two major public clouds, including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong Python proficiency for AI application development and high proficiency in at least one backend language, such as Go, Java, or C++.
• Practical expertise in relational databases, complex SQL, indexing, query optimization, transactions, schema design, temporal data, event tracking, and audit logs.
• Experience with vector databases, embedding pipelines, semantic search, RAG systems, and AI agent frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, or AutoGen.
• Applicants must be based in the United States; visa sponsorship and relocation are not provided.

Nice to have

• Open-source contributions in database, AI/ML application, or agent-tooling ecosystems.
• Experience with MCP servers, A2A protocols, agent memory frameworks, graph databases, semantic caching, or in-memory data grids.
• Experience packaging applications for on-premises or air-gapped regulated environments.
• Knowledge of hirify.global or MySQL application development and system-versioned tables.
