Registered Nurse - Transitional Care (Telemetry/Med Surg)

Location: Palos Heights, Illinois, United States; onsite night shift

Salary: USD 34.50–55.20 per hour; $3,000 sign-on bonus eligible

What you will do

• Provide individualized, age-specific nursing care for patients boarding in the Emergency Department while awaiting inpatient beds.
• Assess, monitor, document, and analyze patient status and clinical data.
• Manage medications, infusions, nursing interventions, and patient responses.
• Develop, update, and evaluate patient care plans from admission through discharge.
• Educate patients and families using evidence-based practice and coordinate discharge planning.
• Collaborate with inpatient teams and participate in multidisciplinary care conferences and referrals.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; an Associate Degree in Nursing is acceptable with a commitment to obtain a BSN within three years of starting the clinical nurse role.
• Current Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license required.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, collaboration, and communication skills.
• Strong background in Telemetry or Med Surg nursing.
• External ADN candidates are not currently being considered for RN openings at Palos Hospital.

Nice to have

• Experience in the specific clinical area.
• Additional emergency, trauma, pediatric, or specialty nursing certifications where applicable.
