What you will do
- Manage DSARs and other data rights requests from receipt through closure while tracking statutory deadlines.
- Coordinate with Operations, Product, Engineering, and Complaints to locate and compile customer data.
- Review and redact sensitive data, protect third-party information, and apply relevant exemptions.
- Maintain accurate records of requests, decisions, and rationale for auditability.
- Communicate request statuses and outcomes clearly and professionally to customers.
- Escalate complex or high-risk requests and improve DSAR processes, procedures, and tooling, including the use of AI.
Requirements
- Strong organisational skills for managing a high-volume caseload against strict deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail when reviewing and redacting sensitive personal data.
- Confidence working across multiple internal systems to locate, extract, and compile customer data.
- Clear written communication and the ability to explain data rights and outcomes in plain English.
- Sound judgement when applying exemptions and escalating complex or high-risk requests.
- Knowledge of UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and relevant ICO guidance.
Nice to have
- Experience handling DSARs, erasure, rectification, portability, or other data rights requests in a regulated environment.
- Experience with redaction tools and case management systems.
- Knowledge of financial services data, including loans, cards, and auto-finance.
- Experience liaising with the ICO or handling escalated data protection complaints.
