TL;DR
Head of Compliance and Data Privacy (AI): Leading ASOS's global privacy, data protection and compliance agenda for UK and EU operations, with an accent on DPO responsibilities, regulatory governance, data risk and responsible AI usage. Focus on designing privacy frameworks, managing breaches and regulatory engagements, overseeing international data transfers, and implementing ethics and compliance programmes.
Location: Hybrid at 's HQ in London, with at least 3 days per week in the office

What you will do
- Act as the independent Data Protection Officer for UK and EU operations and lead the global privacy agenda.
- Advise senior leaders and business functions on privacy legislation, data risks and commercial initiatives.
- Design and maintain privacy governance frameworks, policies, training programmes, ROPA and DPIA processes.
- Lead responses to data breaches, regulatory investigations, audits, data subject rights requests and remediation activities.
- Oversee international data transfers, third-party privacy due diligence, processor compliance and contract provisions.
- Develop AI governance and lead compliance programmes covering anti-bribery, AML, sanctions, whistleblowing and conflicts of interest.
Requirements
- Significant experience leading privacy and data protection programmes in a complex global organisation.
- Deep expertise in privacy legislation, regulatory requirements, digital privacy, cookies, tracking and customer data.
- Experience engaging with regulators and leading investigations, remediation programmes, audits and compliance reviews.
- Ability to translate complex legal and technical topics into practical, commercial advice.
- Strong leadership, influencing and stakeholder management skills across multiple business functions.
- Experience building governance, risk management and compliance frameworks in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have
- Data privacy certification such as IAPP or equivalent.
- Experience in e-commerce, retail, technology or a listed business.
