Senior Corporate Counsel (Privacy)

Location: United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

Salary: £86,400–£116,650 base pay per year, plus potential performance-based bonus and restricted stock unit awards.

What you will do

• Advise legal, business, product, security, and technical teams on privacy and data protection matters across EMEA and globally.
• Interpret GDPR, UK GDPR, U.S. privacy laws, international data transfer requirements, and other global privacy frameworks.
• Support privacy aspects of regulatory inquiries, audits, assessments, mergers and acquisitions, integrations, market entries, restructurings, and commercial agreements.
• Develop privacy governance frameworks, policies, training, operational controls, and breach-response processes.
• Lead privacy reviews for products, features, technologies, data uses, and business initiatives.
• Partner with engineering, security, architecture, and AI governance teams to embed privacy-by-design and privacy-by-default principles.

Requirements

• Law degree and qualification to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
• 7–10 years of relevant experience in privacy, data protection, technology, or related legal roles.
• Deep knowledge of GDPR, UK GDPR, U.S. privacy laws, and global privacy frameworks.
• Experience with DPIAs, TIAs, LIAs, privacy reviews, and privacy risk assessments.
• Experience advising on SaaS, cloud, data analytics, AI, or other technology-related matters.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice to have

• Experience with a multinational technology, SaaS, or cloud-based company.
• Familiarity with OneTrust, TrustArc, ServiceNow, security and compliance frameworks, or legal process automation.
• Privacy or AI certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, FIP, or AIGP.
• Knowledge of AI governance frameworks and emerging AI regulations, including the EU AI Act.
