Data Protection Advisor

What you will do

• Support the delivery and continuous improvement of the Group’s data protection compliance framework.
• Provide practical, commercially focused advice to internal stakeholders across projects, suppliers, and operational teams.
• Manage data subject rights requests, including access, erasure, objection, and restriction requests.
• Investigate, manage, and report personal data breaches in collaboration with relevant teams.
• Maintain RoPAs, DPIAs, LIAs, policies, and other governance documentation.
• Review data protection clauses in contracts and supplier agreements, support privacy by design, and deliver training and awareness initiatives.

Requirements

• Experience in data protection, privacy, compliance, risk, or governance, ideally in a regulated or financial environment.
• Strong working knowledge of UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and PECR.
• Ability to interpret regulation and apply it in a practical, commercially focused way.
• Strong organisation, attention to detail, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services, fintech, banking, insurance, retail, e-commerce, or other regulated sectors.
• CIPP, CIPM, BCS, or another relevant qualification.
• Familiarity with ISO 27001 or wider data governance frameworks.
• Exposure to emerging technologies such as AI, biometrics, or advanced analytics.
