Legal Counsel (Ad Tech)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid model with onsite work 50% of the time

What you will do

• Act as a legal contact for Product & Technology, Ad Tech, and Payment Processing.
• Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice aligned with operational needs.
• Draft, review, and negotiate software licences, SaaS agreements, software development agreements, and service level agreements.
• Advise on data protection matters and negotiate data processing agreements related to Ad Tech, cookies, and similar technologies.
• Build relationships with senior management and stakeholders across the business.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Compliance, and Cyber colleagues.

Requirements

• Qualified to practise English law with at least two years’ PQE.
• Strong understanding of commercial and contract law principles.
• Strong experience drafting and negotiating technology and commercial contracts.
• Strong knowledge of data protection law, including GDPR, and experience with data processing agreements.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced in-house environment.
• Commercial judgement, clear communication, and strong collaborative relationship-building skills.

Nice to have

• Training at a leading UK law firm.
• Previous in-house experience.
• Experience advising on generative AI legal risks or an interest in developing expertise in this area.
