Director, Transportation - Strategy & Network Planning (Supply Chain)

What you will do

• Define and own the long-term transportation strategy, including network design, carrier and mode strategy, capacity, planning, and capability development.
• Own the five-year transportation strategy and integrated portfolio roadmap across physical, operational, analytical, and technology capabilities.
• Establish planning frameworks and performance mechanisms covering cost, transit time, reliability, capacity, carrier performance, and customer experience.
• Use advanced analytics, modeling, and simulation to evaluate network and carrier behavior, investment opportunities, and complex business tradeoffs.
• Partner with operations, engineering, technology, product, finance, procurement, customer experience, and third-party carriers to execute strategy and secure alignment.
• Build and lead a high-performing organization, including hiring, talent development, leadership depth, succession planning, and accountability.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, or network planning, including significant leadership experience.
• Deep knowledge of multi-modal transportation networks, carrier structures, operating models, contract structures, capacity, equipment, and network economics.
• Experience defining and implementing long-term transportation or network strategies with significant business impact.
• Experience with network planning, optimization, simulation, decision-support capabilities, business cases, investment evaluation, and complex financial modeling.
• Proven ability to lead large cross-functional initiatives, influence senior leaders, make decisions with imperfect information, and deliver measurable results.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
