Registered Nurse-Transitional Care Full Time Evenings Sign On Bonus Eligible (Medtech)

Location: Palos Hospital, 12251 S. 80th Av., Palos Heights, Illinois, United States. Full-time evening shift.

Salary: USD 34.50–55.20 per hour. Sign-on bonus: USD 2,500, subject to eligibility rules.

What you will do

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients boarding in the Emergency Department while awaiting inpatient beds.
• Monitor patient status, perform assessments, manage medications and infusions, and deliver clinical interventions.
• Develop, document, and continuously update individualized, age-specific plans of care.
• Begin discharge planning at admission and coordinate continuity-of-care referrals.
• Educate patients and families using evidence-based practice.
• Collaborate with patients, families, inpatient teams, and multidisciplinary care conferences.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; an Associate Degree in Nursing is acceptable with a commitment to obtain a BSN within three years.
• Current Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license required.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required.
• Strong interpersonal, collaboration, analytical, documentation, and patient-care planning skills.
• Strong background in Telemetry or Medical-Surgical nursing.
• Additional emergency department certifications may be required within one year of hire, including ACLS, PALS/ENPC, and TNCC.

Nice to have

• Experience in the specific clinical area.
• Trauma Nurse Specialist, Emergency Communications Registered Nurse, Certified Pediatric Nurse, or Certified Emergency Nurse credentials for applicable emergency roles.
