Clinical Nurse - General Medicine 13W Full Time Nights

Location: 251 E. Huron, Chicago, IL, United States; onsite night shift

Salary: USD 36.50–58.40 per hour

What you will do

• Provide and coordinate clinically competent, evidence-based care for an assigned group of general medicine patients.
• Assess patients, identify outcomes, plan and implement nursing interventions, and evaluate responses in the health record.
• Develop individualized, age-specific and culturally sensitive plans of care while advocating for patient safety, rights and needs.
• Educate patients, families, students and team members, and collaborate with multidisciplinary hospital services.
• Delegate and supervise care, communicate accurate information during handoffs, and escalate situations requiring further intervention.
• Participate in mentoring, professional development, policy development, innovation and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Graduate of an NLN-accredited school or college of nursing.
• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or higher.
• Current Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license required.
• Basic Life Support CPR certification through the American Heart Association.
• Analytical ability, strong oral, listening and written communication skills, and effective collaboration in difficult situations.
• Ability to use a keyboard to enter or retrieve data.

Nice to have

• Experience in the specific clinical area.
• Nursing specialty certification, if eligible.
