Senior Software Engineer (React/Node.js)

Location: Onsite five days per week at the office in Jacksonville, Florida, United States

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deliver guest-facing and franchisee-facing digital features.
• Lead architecture and system design decisions, including Architecture Decision Records.
• Write production code across React, Node.js, and TypeScript systems.
• Improve the performance, scalability, reliability, and observability of high-traffic services.
• Drive modernization toward cloud-native and distributed architectures.
• Mentor engineers, conduct design and code reviews, and improve engineering practices, testing, CI/CD, and developer experience.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including leadership of complex technical initiatives.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
• Experience with GraphQL; Apollo Federation is preferred.
• Cloud expertise, preferably AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB; Terraform experience is preferred.
• Experience designing and operating distributed, high-traffic systems, databases, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and automated testing.
• Strong communication, technical leadership, mentorship, and stakeholder collaboration skills; a Computer Science degree or equivalent industry experience.

Nice to have

• Experience in quick service restaurants, retail, or consumer-facing digital businesses.
• Experience with Apollo Federation, Terraform, Datadog, New Relic, or CloudWatch.
