Senior Fullstack Software Engineer (React)

Location: Remote; opportunity to meet team members in person twice per year

Salary: $145,000–$160,000 per annum

What you will do

• Design and build scalable platform capabilities for digital learning experiences.
• Develop and maintain backend services, front-end interfaces, APIs, third-party integrations, and reliable data flows.
• Work with application databases, event-driven systems, analytics platforms, and downstream consumers.
• Own development from system design through production, including monitoring, performance, testing, debugging, and code reviews.
• Use KPIs, OKRs, North Star metrics, and empirical data to improve products and engineering workflows.
• Mentor engineers, contribute to architecture and technical standards, and collaborate with product managers, designers, and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• 6+ years of full-stack software engineering experience, including technical direction and engineering standards.
• Experience building systems for internal stakeholders and external users, including authentication, onboarding, or enablement features.
• Experience with automated unit, integration, or end-to-end testing.
• Experience with data-intensive systems, data pipelines, analytics infrastructure, event data, or data modeling.
• Startup or early-stage company experience and strong ownership of delivered systems.
• Experience with Terraform, AWS, SQL/NoSQL databases, Lambda, Athena, ECS, S3, dbt, TypeScript, JavaScript, CSS, and React.

• Experience as a founding engineer.
• Experience delivering systems that measurably improved outcomes for users or teams.
