TL;DR
Centrifugal Lead Technician (HVACR): Coordinating laboratory technicians and supporting the design, development, testing, qualification, and assembly of centrifugal compression technology with an accent on troubleshooting, safety, calibration, and laboratory operations. Focus on assigning project work, developing testing procedures, mentoring technicians, and preparing laboratory operations for ISO/IEC 17025, UL, and ANAB requirements.

Location: Sidney, Ohio, United States; onsite at the Sidney facility

Legal authorization to work in the United States is required. Visa sponsorship is not provided.

Schedule: Full-time, first shift, with flexible start and stop times.

What you will do

  • Assign project tasks to centrifugal laboratory technicians and coordinate workflow against business priorities.
  • Communicate schedules, concerns, and project updates through daily and weekly stand-up meetings.
  • Support a safe, clean laboratory environment using 5S+1 practices and established safety procedures.
  • Train and onboard new hires while providing performance coaching and mentoring.
  • Perform system performance and development testing, compressor assembly builds, troubleshooting, and hands-on project work.
  • Support preventive maintenance, calibration plans, testing procedures, and laboratory operational records.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or technical certificate with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, planning, and execution skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with laboratory groups and product engineering.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience developing testing procedures, training documents, and critical laboratory records.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

  • Associate degree in electro-mechanical engineering, HVAC, industrial operations, or a related engineering or manufacturing discipline, with 7 or more years of experience.
  • Understanding of ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory compliance and experience preparing for ISO/IEC 17025, UL, and ANAB audits.
  • Knowledge of laboratory performance metrics and KPIs, statistics, physics, and mathematics.
  • Leadership experience with direct reports and experience in quality; ASQ certification is preferred.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
